Why it costs less

AI-assisted engineering handles the repetitive setup work in a fraction of the time. You pay for the part that's specific to your business: your workflow, your rules and the unusual cases. The saving comes from time, not from cutting corners.

A note from Daniel

You deal with me from the first call to the finished software. I take on a few projects at a time, so each one gets proper attention. If custom software isn't right for you, I'll tell you on the first call.

DanielFounder, Backend for Businesses

We already use property management software. Why add this?

You may not need to. If your current software already tracks requests, vendors and reminders well, I'll tell you on the first call. This is for the gaps: the spreadsheet or the inbox that sits beside it.

Can tenants use it without installing anything?

Yes. Tenants can send a request and check its status from a web page on their phone. There is nothing to install.

Is the first call really free?

Yes. The 20–40 minute call is free, and so is the mockup. You only pay if you decide to go ahead.

When do I pay?

After you've seen the free mockup and agreed the fixed price, before the build starts. Nothing before that.

How long does it take?

Smaller builds take 1 to 2 weeks from the first call to handoff. Bigger ones take longer. You get the timeline in writing before you pay.

Do I really own it?

Yes. The code, the data and the hosting account are yours. No per-user fees and no lock-in. Any developer can pick it up later.

Does it work with the software we already use?

Often, yes. It can connect to what you use now, or replace a spreadsheet. We check on the first call.

What if we need changes during the build?

You try it while it's being built, so changes happen early. Anything genuinely new is priced separately, and nothing is added to your bill without your yes.

What happens after it's finished?

Bug fixes are included after launch. After that, I can look after it for a small monthly fee, or your own team can. Apart from hosting, nothing is needed to keep it running.

Who do you usually work with?

Any business with a process that's costing it time or money, from equipment dealers, contractors and repair shops to distributors, manufacturers, trucking companies, property managers, cleaning companies, accounting firms and staffing agencies. Usually the owner or operations manager, in a business where a lot of work still runs on spreadsheets, paper, or people chasing things by hand.

What kind of projects are you a good fit for?

Work that's too specific to your business for an off-the-shelf app: approval steps, your own pricing rules, warranty or compliance paperwork, customer portals, or getting two systems that don't talk to each other to share data. If you've tried a few software subscriptions and ended up back in a spreadsheet, that's usually a good sign we can help.

Can you build something that isn't on this page?

Yes. Everything on this page is an example. If a problem in your business can be solved with software, we can build it. Tell me the problem on the call and I'll tell you honestly if it's worth fixing.

Why does it cost so much less than a traditional software project?

AI-assisted engineering does the repetitive setup work in a fraction of the time. You pay for the part that's specific to your business: your workflow, your rules and the unusual cases. The saving comes from time, not from cutting corners.
